Moving a Hot Tub in Los Angeles

Moving a hot tub by yourself can be challenging and possibly dangerous. If you don’t have the proper tools, or know how to move it properly, you can end up with serious injuries. Hiring moving services in Los Angeles would be a wise choice. However, if you do want to move the hot tub yourself, be prepared with the right equipment and enough people to help.

First of all, make sure to unplug the hot tub from the electrical current and secure the cord underneath the hot tub within the wood enclosed. Turn the hot tub to the side. Give your self enough space, then have two people on one side and two people
on the other lift the other side up. Have everyone lift up a corner, and place a 4×4 piece of wood under the corner. Repeat this process on the other side. Make sure that everyone is positioned and ready to lift at the same time. If not, it could cause serious back injuries to those lifting.

When going up or down stairs, move the hot tub with an appliance dolly. These dollies have straps to secure the item so you have better control over the item. You should have at least two people in the front and two others in the back of the hot tub. Going upstairs can be easier then going downstairs. As you move one step at a time, make sure the person leading has enough time to plan the next step before moving. Movers in Los Angeles are experienced when it comes to moving hot tubs, so we do recommend hiring a moving company, especially if stairs are involved.

If you are going to be moving the hot tub on a flat surface, then so do with furniture dollies. With the hot tub on its side, place one dolly under the backside and another dolly on the front side. If this dolly has straps, it will be to your advantage so the hot tub is well-secured as it’s being moved.

When transporting the hot tub to another location, make sure to use a truck that has a lift gate. Lifting the hot tub can be very difficult; and, this would have to be done twice to load, and then to unload, the hot tub. A Los Angeles moving company has a truck with a lift gate to make moving easier.

When removing the dollies from the hot tub, have one person on each end, and two people on the side that will be lowered to the ground. This must be done very slowly to prevent accidentally dropping the hot tub. Bring it down by grabbing the sides and corners. It is wise to have a 4×4 on each corner to rest the hot tub on so you can get your fingers out. Repeat, and raise one end
and remove the 4×4 on the other side.

Now, plug it back in to the desired spot, and enjoy!
